Atlantic City News

There is so much news that we can’t list it all! Some of the highlights (or lowlights) are... A bill has been introduced by Senator Jim Whelan to reduce the number of hotel rooms required for a casino license from 500 to 200. The Trump Entertainment bondholders backed by Donald Trump won their fight in bankruptcy court against Carl Ichan for control of the company, however, Ichan is appealing. Morgan Stanley has reported a $952 million loss and is looking to sell the Revel. In the meantime, construction has stopped at the Revel site until financing can be found. Sometime during the weekend of April 16th, Taj Mahal released $5 & $25 20th Anniversary chips. I was told the quantities made were 1000 $5’s and 100 $25’s. Chips are available at the cashier.

New Business

In January 2011 we will open nominations for club officers. If anyone is curious about any position please contact any of the current officers so that you may familiarize yourself and to allow a smooth transition. No obligation! We will also make another plea for a “Sunshine” volunteer that at the club’s expense would send cards, flowers or fruit baskets to ill or bereaved members on behalf of the club.

Belinda Hixon, the Volunteer Coordinator, still needs volunteers to help out at the convention at South Point? People can work for as little as two hours in various areas, and their help would be greatly appreciated. Contact Belinda via email at txbel711@aol.com

Special thanks goes to member Mark Maahs who with Buffet Manager, Kevin Bloomer not only organized the banquet, but also arranged to have beer, wine and shrimp platters available at each table! We would also like to thank Kevin for addressing the members during the meeting and making everyone feel welcome! The staff at Bally’s has gone above and beyond in meeting our needs! If you’re going to play I urge you to try Bally’s or one of the other Total Rewards® properties!

Please join us on May 23rd at Bally’s Hotel Casino, 6th floor Marlborough Room. Other 2010 meeting dates are September 12th and November 14th. Mark your calendars!
