Our next meeting is on Sunday, May 23rd 2010 we will meet at Bally’s Hotel Casino on the 6th floor in the Marlborough Room. Doors open at 11:00 AM. As usual we will have a trade session, auction and 50/50 drawing. There will be signs posted.


Highlights of the last meeting

At the March meeting there were 75 members and 9 guest present! 70 members attended the buffet at Bally’s Virginia City Buffet. The Treasurer’s report showed $12,014.31 in the following accounts: Business checking $5,014.31 and 9 month CD $7,000. Winners of the 50/50 drawing were 1st prize $100 Judy Wuerth, 2nd prize $50 Phil Doroskio, 3rd prize $30 Angie Montebello! Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone that bought tickets!


Atlantic City News

There is so much news that we can’t list it all! Some of the highlights (or lowlights) are... A bill has been introduced by Senator Jim Whelan to reduce the number of hotel rooms required for a casino license from 500 to 200. The Trump Entertainment bondholders backed by Donald Trump won their fight in bankruptcy court against Carl Ichan for control of the company, however, Ichan is appealing. Morgan Stanley has reported a $952 million loss and is looking to sell the Revel. In the meantime, construction has stopped at the Revel site until financing can be found. Highlights of the last meeting

In spite of the weather there were 54 members and 5 guest present at the last meeting. Allan McCurdy, Treasurer, reported there was $4808.06 in the club checking account and approximately $7000 in a 9 month CD that was maturing. $196 was taken in by the club with $145 from the 50/50 and $51 from the auction. President Jerry Birl announced that he will not run for reelection when his term expires in 2011. Winners of the 50/50 drawing were 1st prize $80 Lin Weisenstein, 2nd prize $40 Jim Mulheam, 3rd prize $25 Joe DeLengyel.


Atlantic City News

Some of what’s happening in Atlantic City is Carl Ichan is the new owner of the Tropicana, Ichan and Trump are competing for control of the three Trump Casinos. Local lawmakers and Revel are seeking a $300 million tax break from Atlantic City and the State of New Jersey, MGM is selling their Atlantic City assets including it’s share in Borgata, Steve Wynn may be coming to Philadelphia and much more!
